INCA TRAIL 4 DAYS

Follow the legendary Inca Trail on a 4-day trek to Machu Picchu. Walk in the footsteps of the Incas through ancient ruins, cloud forests, and breathtaking mountain passes. Arrive at the Sun Gate at sunrise and witness one of the world’s greatest wonders in the most iconic way possible.

Day 1: Cusco to Wayllabamba

  • At 6:30 a.m., our guide will pick you up from your hotel and transport you by bus to Km. 82, where we will arrive at approximately 10:00 a.m. At this location, we will have the pleasure of meeting the team that will accompany us on our trek, including porters, tent assistants, cooks, and more. We will then begin our hike.
  • The first day is relatively easy for the first few kilometers. We will enjoy a beautiful view of the Verónica snow-capped mountain and walk alongside the Vilcanota River until we reach the archaeological site of Patallacta. Here, we will stop for lunch to regain energy before continuing our trek to Huayllabamba, where we will set up our first campsite. (Lunch – Dinner)

Day 2: Wayllabamba to Pacaymayo

  • After a refreshing breakfast, we will begin our second day of trekking, which is perhaps the most challenging, as we will have to ascend to the Warmihuañusca pass at 4,200 meters above sea level. At this highest point of the Inca Trail, we will enjoy a panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains surrounding the pass. After lunch, we will start descending into the Pacaymayo Valley, where we will set up our second campsite.
    (Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner)

Day 3: Pacaymayo to Wiñaywayna

  • Early in the morning, after our energizing breakfast, we resume the trail. Half an hour into the hike, we will reach the archaeological site of Runqurakay. From this point, the path is paved with stones. In some sections, it is up to 2 meters wide, showcasing the impressive quality of Inca engineering. We will visit Sayacmarca, a beautiful architectural complex, and pass through a tunnel carved into the mountain rock to reach the archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca. From here, the descent begins along a highly scenic path with lush vegetation from the cloud forest, rich in flora and fauna. After about two hours, we will arrive at Wiñayhuayna, where we will set up our third and final campsite.
Optional: We can use the showers available at the restaurant in the area, a great option to enjoy a refreshing cold or hot shower.
    (Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner)

Day 4: Machu Picchu from Wiñaywayna

  • After breakfast, we will continue the hike until we reach Intipunku (Sun Gate), from where we will have a spectacular view of the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. We will descend on foot, then have approximately a 2-hour guided tour of the most important sites with your guide, after which you can explore the mysterious city at your own pace.
  • We take the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes to spend the night in a standard hotel. You will meet your guide in Aguas Calientes, with an optional visit to the town’s hot springs (entrance fee: $4 USD).
  • In the afternoon, return train to Ollantaytambo. Expedition Service (to Ollantaytambo) and bus to Cusco. We will arrive in Cusco approximately at 10:30 p.m.
    (Breakfast)
