Experience Overview

Embark on an unforgettable journey to discover the highlights of Cusco in 7 days. You will explore the historic capital of the Incas, visit sacred temples, ancient fortresses, and the breathtaking Machu Picchu. This adventure perfectly blends culture, nature, and tradition at every step.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – Acclimatization & City Tour
Morning – Welcome to Cusco

Your adventure begins upon arrival in Cusco, where our team will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Since the altitude is higher than in most cities, you should take time to rest and adjust before starting your explorations.

Afternoon – Exploring Cusco’s Historic Center

Afterward, start your city tour with the Cusco Cathedral, a colonial masterpiece. Then, visit Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun, where you will see a unique blend of Incan and Spanish architecture.

Next, explore Sacsayhuamán, an impressive Inca fortress. In addition, you will visit Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay, each offering fascinating insights into Incan history. Finally, you will have free time to enjoy Cusco’s vibrant streets before returning to your hotel.

Day 2: Sacred Valley – Pisaq & Ollantaytambo

After breakfast, embark on a journey through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. First, stop at the Taray Viewpoint, where you can admire breathtaking panoramic views. Then, visit the Pisaq Archaeological Site, known for its impressive terraces and ancient tombs.

Later, explore the Pisaq Market, where you will find a variety of traditional handicrafts. Afterward, enjoy a buffet lunch in Urubamba before heading to Ollantaytambo, a living Incan town with a majestic archaeological site.

At this point, you can choose to stay overnight in Ollantaytambo or take the train to Aguas Calientes for the next day’s Machu Picchu visit.

Day 3: Machu Picchu – The Lost City of the Incas

Wake up early for a scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes. While on board, enjoy breathtaking views of the Andean landscapes. Upon arrival, take a short bus ride to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Once inside, enjoy a guided tour of the citadel, exploring its key sites, including the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana Stone, and the Temple of the Three Windows. If pre-booked, you can also hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain for a spectacular panoramic view.

After the tour, return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and some free time before boarding the train back to Cusco. Without a doubt, visiting Machu Picchu is one of the most breathtaking highlights of Cusco in 7 days.

Day 4: Maras & Moray – The Agricultural Legacy of the Incas

Today, you will visit the stunning Maras Salt Mines, where thousands of salt pools create a mesmerizing landscape. These salt pans have been in use since Incan times and continue to produce Andean pink salt.

Then, you will explore Moray, a remarkable Incan agricultural laboratory. Here, the Incas experimented with different crops using concentric terraces. Afterward, you will return to Cusco and have free time to explore the city’s charming streets, local markets, or traditional restaurants.

Day 5: Rainbow Mountain – A Natural Wonder

You will begin your day early with a drive through the Andean highlands to the Rainbow Mountain trailhead. During the hike, enjoy breathtaking landscapes, including views of snow-capped peaks and herds of alpacas.

After reaching the summit, take in the incredible colors of Vinicunca, created by natural mineral deposits. Then, descend and have a well-deserved lunch before returning to Cusco for a relaxing evening.

Day 6: Humantay Lake – A Turquoise Gem in the Andes

Another day of adventure awaits! First, you will drive to the Humantay Lake trailhead. Then, you will hike through picturesque valleys and towering mountains before reaching this breathtaking glacial lake.

Once there, admire the turquoise waters reflecting the surrounding peaks. After enjoying some free time to take photos and soak in the beauty of the landscape, you will return to Cusco in the afternoon. The rest of the evening is yours to explore at your leisure.

Day 7: Departure – Farewell to Cusco

On your final day, enjoy a leisurely morning strolling through Cusco’s historic streets, visiting museums, or shopping for last-minute souvenirs.
