ABOUT US
Helmer Molina, the visionary behind Waka Explorers, often took his dog to a nearby spot that brought him peace and a deep connection to the nature and history of Cusco. It was only later that he discovered this special place was actually a wakaâa sacred site deeply rooted in Andean culture. Unaware of its significance at the time, he felt a unique energy that inspired the idea for Waka Explorers. Helmer envisioned sharing this profound connection with travelers, showing that Cusco is more than a tourist destinationâitâs a living tapestry where history, spirituality, and nature converge.
WAKA MEANING
The name Waka, meaning sacred places in Quechua, reflects our commitment to guiding travelers to the heart of the Andes, where sacred lands, crystal-clear springs, revered mountains known as apus, and ancient traditions come together in harmony. These places, rich in spirituality and connection to nature, are fundamental to the Andean worldview and represent the very essence of what we aim to share with those who travel with us.
“Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it’s a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the idea of living”
