Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – City Tour (Optional)

  • Welcome to Cusco! Upon your arrival at the airport, a Waka Explorers representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Take this time to rest and begin acclimating to the altitude.
  • In the afternoon (optional), you can explore the historical richness of Cusco on a guided City Tour:
  • Cusco Cathedral: Start your journey at the Basilica of the Virgin of the Assumption, a masterpiece of colonial architecture and a Cultural Heritage site of Peru.
  • Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun): Once the most important temple in the Inca Empire, this sacred site blends ancient Inca stonework with colonial Spanish architecture.
  • Sacsayhuamán: An impressive fortress with massive megalithic stones offering panoramic views of Cusco.
  • Qenqo: A mysterious site with carved tunnels and altars dedicated to Pachamama (Mother Earth).

Day 2: Sacred Valley Tour – Pisac, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo & Chinchero

  • After breakfast, we set out to explore the iconic Sacred Valley of the Incas.
  • Taray Viewpoint: Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Sacred Valley.
  • Pisac Archaeological Site: Discover impressive agricultural terraces, sacred temples, and ceremonial structures atop the mountain.
  • Pisac Market: Stroll through the colorful market and shop for handcrafted souvenirs.
  • Urubamba: Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in the heart of the valley.
  • Ollantaytambo Ruins: Explore well-preserved Inca architecture, including temples, terraces, and fountains.
  • Ollantaytambo Town: Experience the charm of the “Living Inca City,” still inhabited by descendants of the Incas.
  • Chinchero: Visit a local textile center and learn about ancient Inca weaving techniques and natural dyeing processes.
  • We return to Cusco in the evening after a day full of history, culture, and scenic beauty.

Day 3: Machu Picchu Tour (Full Day)

  • Today is the highlight of your journey — the majestic Machu Picchu!
  • We’ll pick you up early in the morning and head to the train station in Ollantaytambo. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to buy breakfast and snacks at local stalls before boarding the scenic train to Aguas Calientes (approx. 1 hour 45 minutes).
  • Upon arrival, our Waka Explorers guide will welcome you and lead you to the bus station for the ascent to Machu Picchu Citadel.
  • During your private guided tour, you’ll explore the marvels of this ancient Inca sanctuary: temples, plazas, water fountains, agricultural zones, and royal residences — all surrounded by lush mountains and spiritual energy.
  • You’ll have time to walk at your own pace, take amazing photos, and fully connect with the site. After the visit, we’ll return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and some free time before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo. A private vehicle will be waiting to bring you back to Cusco, arriving around 10:00 p.m.

Day 4: Free Day in Cusco – Airport Transfer

  • Enjoy your final morning in Cusco at your own pace. Stroll through charming streets, visit local markets, shop for souvenirs, or taste delicious Peruvian cuisine. Our guide will have given you personalized recommendations.
